Mi Niña Lola, Concha Buika

No doubt, Africa is our mother. specifically if we are talking in musical terms. We can note it with this singer of Guinean origin, who says despite of not having familiarity with the Flamenco, shows us to live it profoundly. With this voice, achieves its audience to live her life through it in a matter of seconds. Concha Buika, without being Gypsy, without having a flamenco school to its credit, it´s one more example of the importance of talent above all else.
Arranger and self-taught composer, Concha Buika, after years of singing in casinos and producing songs of modern music. Makes a trip to the Spanish Copla bringing to us a voice undeniably attractive and moving. Her second solo album, produced by Javier Limon, responsible for productions such as Cositas Buenas of Paco de Lucia or the Lagrimas Negras of Bebo and Cigala. The compositions built primarily by her Javier Limon are as worthly as esquisite as its intrpretation. To number some participants of this production there´s “El Negro” Hernandez on drums, Jerry Gonzalez on trumpet or Niño Josele on the flamenco guitar.
A heartbreaking and humanizing record proper to its genre. A record despite having a such a pure and specific essence, it is equally dynamic and heterogeneous. Not to new, but I could not leave it to consider this production this week´s disc of Acidconga.
