Just close your eyes and listen The Budos Band, to be able to travel to the bowels of the African consciousness, with a powerful combination of saxophones simulating the cry of an elephant and a classic afrobeat playing stampedes of animals in wilderness. From the corner of Staten Island in New York, comes a group that defines their gender as Afro-soul, following the same style as Antibalas or Africa Funk; The Budos Band. Out now its second production in the market, its name is beginning to gain more and more fame in the underground world of Afro and most cosmopolitan corners of the city.
With eleven musicians on the scene -sometimes thirteen- they achieve the recreation of sounds of afrofunk and soul of the decade of the seventies. Thier two productions, very similar in terms of management tools and direction of genre, are a great compendium of work on the issue of saxophones, trombones and trumpets, as well as having bases in bass and guitar, accompanied by keyboards with all the soul that can be achieved in the streets os NY.
Friends, frequent readers, The Budos Band is definitely a young band, in terms of their production, but promises to continue surprising just like their first two albums, which are a tribute and a compendium of the best achieved to these days on Afrofunk issues, Afrosoul and Afrobeat.
